Kirra and Willy – Barefoot at Broken Head

A casual and very elegant beach side wedding couldn’t be any more fitting for these 2 surf-meisters.

Venue: Barefoot pavilion; Modern Balinese inspired open plan living amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, giant fig trees, paper barks, and Broken Head Beach.

Guests were bussed to the Broken Head venue but were immediately directed to a small winding track. Several steps later and they were met on their own private sand dune, by barefoot waiters and a refreshing tropical homemade punch.

After the ceremony champagne popped, cold beers flowed, and guests no doubt felt very special enjoying a drink on one of Australia’s finest beaches.

Back at the venue the catering got underway with oysters & canapés before firing up the Gourmet BBQ. Guests visited Chef Bill who cooked to order 5 different items– all prepared in mini-size so that everyone could enjoy a taste of everything.

Meanwhile the Alfresco carvery added a Mediterranean touch to the day, with our second Chef carving a melt in the mouth slow roast lamb that came straight from the oven, macadamia stuffed chicken wrapped in prosciutto, alongside 3 Italian style salads and a very flavoursome hot smoked salmon penne.

Quite a feast to span across the afternoon, that led into the Gelateria as a light, fun & popular way to finish off the menu, with a selection of homemade ice creams, sauces and sprinkles.

Did we say finish off? Not quite, just in case anyone was still hungry later in the night, our maple and Guiness caramelized leg of ham came out hot, toffeed & dripping, with ripped French bread to mop with, mustards and a tasty peach relish.

There wasn’t a scrap left on the bone

It was a seriously great way to finish a fantastic and very full day.
